I'm not sure how many have tried this link to learn and know about Maintenance Planner
This section might seem too short for talking about SAP Maintenance Planner especially when in the past you always dealt with Maintenance Optimizer.
CREATING A MAINTENANCE TASK WITH THE MAINTENANCE PLANNER
Using Maintenance planner in SAP Support Portal, do dont have really a requirement need to update the lastest support package in SAP Support Portal Solution Manager, rather you could already create a task by planning ( Choosing Plan) and defining the actual abap, kernal, db and OS versions and then choose the support stack that you require. After which you have a option to either download the stack.xml or direct the list to SAP download basket.
Is that simple? We'll I'm just sharing a tip of the ice berg and although salute to those already experiencing and shining in this area.
