SDM
is a part of SAP NW java stack, Following are the steps for resetting
password of SDM in case if SDM/JSPM is not allowing to login.
1 Open Terminal Window
2 Go
to SDM Root folder with (/usr/sap/<SID>/
JC<SysNr>/SDM/programn or /usr/sap/<SID>/
DVEBMGS<Sysnr>/SDM/program depending on the type of the
installation Pure Java or ABAP+JAVA stack) : cd
/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<no>/SDM/program
3 Take SDM to Standalone Mode: sdm.sh jstartup mode=standalone
4 Change
SDM Password: sdm.sh changepassword
sdmhome=/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<no>/SDM/program
newpassword=<newpassword>
5 Take SDM to Integrated Mode: sdm.sh jstartup mode=integrated
6 After
this restart the java instance and ensure the SDM is running before
trying to login with the new password entered in step 4.
How to Change SDM Password for security reason after installation
1 Open Terminal Window
2 Go
to SDM Root folder with (/usr/sap/<SID>/
JC<SysNr>/SDM/programn or /usr/sap/<SID>/
DVEBMGS<Sysnr>/SDM/program depending on the type of the
installation Pure Java or ABAP+JAVA stack) : cd
/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<no>/SDM/program
3 Set Display and Execute RemoteGui.sh , SDM GUI is started and connected to an SDM Server.
4 Select Repository ® Change SDM Password. The Change SDM Password dialog box appears.
5 Enter the old password, the new password and confirm the new password.
6 Click the Change Password button.
