Use

Several administrative activities are necessary in the BW system for precalculation and distribution of workbooks.

Features

Maintaining the Precalculation Server
You can use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Create Precalculation Server to create new precalculation servers that are required for the precalculation of workbooks. For more information, see Creating Precalculation Servers.

If you restart the BW system you absolutely have to restart the Windows service SAP BE Precalculation Service.

Information on the Server
You can use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Information on the Server to get to a dialog box where you can see the technical name, the description and current information. Current information shows you the current instances and the status of the server (online, offline). Beyond that, you can display or delete the front end log. The front end log is a log file that displays errors that have occurred.
Test of Precalculation
You can use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Test of Precalculation to test the precalculation of workbooks and their distribution via e-mail.
       1.      Enter the desired workbook.
       2.      If the workbook contains variables, you can specify the variant that determines which variable values will be used to precalculate the workbook.
       3.      Specify the precalculation server.
       4.      Specify a Web template that will determine the contents of the e-mail.
       5.      Specify the e-mail addresses for the distribution.
The precalculation is started from the BEx broadcaster and you can test the function.
Overview of the Processed Precalculations
