Solution
You can directly install SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext. Set 1.10 with the Installation Master DVD for SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext 2 SR1, but you need to perform the following manual steps:
- 1. Perform the "Database Instance Installation" with the SAPinst executable from your R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext 2 SR1 Installation Master DVD and cancel the installation after the first dialog.

- 2. Copy the packages.xml file attached to this note to your installation directory to overwrite the old packages.xml file.
- 3. Windows/Unix:
Replace the text "@OS@" with your OS-Plattform, - for example
LINUXX86_64, LINUXIA64_64, LINUX_32, SUNOS_64, AIX_64, HPIA64, HP11_64, AMD64, I386, IA64 ... - in the new packages.xml.
- 4. Create a new dummy EXPORT DVD 8 under a local folder and create a LABEL.ASC file in this folder with the following commands:
- a) Unix:
mkdir /sapcddummy
mkdir /sapcddummy/DATA
echo "SAP:R3E:4.71:EXPORT(8/8):Installation Export:CD" > /sapcddummy/LABEL.ASC
chmod 777 /sapcddummy/LABEL.ASC
- b) Windows:
mkdir <drive>:\sapcddummy
mkdir <drive>:\sapcddummy\DATA
create a text file <drive>:\sapcddummy\LABEL.ASC with your favorite editor like notepad with the entry
SAP:R3E:4.71:EXPORT(8/8):Installation Export:CD
- 5. Restart SAPinst and continue with "Database Instance Installation".
