We recommend going to the most current version of SAP Sybase ASE available on SAP Service Marketplace right after installation/migration, see SAP Note 1590719.
The installation of dual-stack systems is generally not supported on SAP Sybase ASE, with the exception of PI, MI, and Solution Manager.
MCOD is not supported for SAP solutions on SAP Sybase ASE. The general support and maintenance for the SAP One Server 2.0 (MCOD) installation process has ended.
SAP Kernel:
The only SAP kernel versions that are supported for use with SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 are SAP KERNEL 7.20 EXT 64-BIT UC or SAP Kernel 7.21 EXT 64-BIT UC.
That is, only 64-Bit Unicode SAP systems are supported for use with SAP Sybase ASE 15.7.
SAP Host Agent for SAP Sybase ASE is available, starting with minimum patch level 115 of SAP Host Agent 7.20.
SL Toolset 1.0/SUM:
To use SL Toolset 1.0, you have to use a minimum database version of Sybase ASE 15.7.0.030, ODBC 15.7.0.410, JDBC 7.07 GA/EBF 20552 and SAP Kernel pl 402.
Virtualization:
With SAP Sybase ASE you use a database owned by SAP. Therefore, the "General Support Statement for Virtual Environments", which is available in SAP Note 1492000, fully applies for SAP Sybase ASE, and it is supported on all virtual solutions that are supported by SAP NetWeaver.
Further components:
Redwood Scheduler is available for SAP Sybase ASE, starting with minimum patch level ETPRJSCHEDULER33_43-20007176.SCA of SAP CPS BY REDWOOD 8.0.
For NW 7.31, a minimum of ETPRJSCHEDULER33_56-20007176.SCA is required.

The general availability of SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 announced by the SAP database team does not automatically imply the use of SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 with SAP application systems. After completion of a dedicated verification and certification process for the different SAP release versions to be supported, SAP will release SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 for use with the corresponding SAP component versions.

The SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 package provided by SAP includes the SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 server as well as the according JDBC and ODBC drivers for database connectivity (DB client).
SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 is installed silently as part of the installation of the respective SAP product and must not be installed separately before starting the SAP installation tool SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager).
